Activities on BTB's Websites

In addition to the online advertising campaigns that have been highlighted in recent issues of this update, the BTB's network of websites has been active in the past quarter with activities including:

• Ongoing promotion of Belize travel specials being offered from May through November
• Creation of a Specialist course for the travel trade on Belizetraveltrade.org and the registration of over 124 agents on that website in this quarter alone
• Providing over 200 images to 18 media houses for publication in Belize features
• Upgrading of the September Celebrations website to include real time voting on the song competitions and other features
• Incorporating the new "Be One" concept in the final stages of the new travelbelize.org design

For the period of July to September 2008, the BTB's websites and related mailings generated some 1,752,639 consumer impressions. In overall visitation to the travelbelize.org website there was an increase in visitors of some 2.96% over the same period in 2007. While the United States remained the country with the highest percentage of visitors at approximately 65% of total visitation, of interest is the increase in visitation from countries such as Canada, Mexico, Taiwan, Spain, Guatemala and Switzerland.
