Belize showcased at DEMA Show 2008

At the annual Diving Equipment & Marketing Association (DEMA) show, an international trade- only event for diving and action water sports held in Las Vegas, Nevada, from October 22^nd- 25^th, 2008, Belize had the opportunity to showcase its marine diversity, popular water activities and unique accommodations to an audience of over 11,500 professionals.

The show brought together more than 650 exhibitors featuring leading dive equipment manufacturers, travel destination representatives, water-sports apparel manufacturers, and hospitality service providers creating an atmosphere geared towards promoting dive-related business and education.

The Belize Tourism Board's booth design highlighted the two main attractions for diving in Belize, - the beautiful coral and seasonal whale shark spotting. Visitors to the booth were amazed by the awesome display of color and imagery that represented Belize. Other items on display included, "Destination Belize" magazines, illustrated maps, and brochures.

DEMA is a non-profit membership-based association focused on the Scuba Diving and Action Water Sports industries and promotes the industries' sustainable growth through safe recreational diving and snorkeling.

Private sector participation included members of the Belize Tourism Board, Hamanasi Dive & Adventure Resort, Belize Audubon Society, Ambergris Divers, Costa Maya Reef Resort, Belize Dive Connection, Turneffe Flats, Sunbreeze/Mayan Princess, Tropic Air Ltd., The Placencia Hotel, and the Belize Tourism Industry Association.
