Belize Hosts First International Media Tour for Fiscal Year 2008/2009

Representatives from various media houses in the United States were in Belize on a seven-day tour which started May 3rd and ended May 9th, 2008. The main focus of this tour highlights Holistic Spiritual Healing & Luxury.

The media’s itinerary took them first to San Pedro, Ambergris Caye where they where they had a sample of island life and enjoyed marine activities such as snorkeling at Hol Chan and Shark Ray Alley. They then headed to Punta Gorda where they had an opportunity to experience the rich local culture of a Mayan musician and Garifuna drumming and view demonstrations of basket weaving and embroidery. They then went on to enjoy a picnic lunch and Cave Swim at Blue Creek and making a stop of the Mayan site of Lubaantun. The final leg of their itinerary took them to the Cayo District where they did a medicinal trail hike and visited the ancient Maya City of Xunantunich and spa treatments before departing for the US.
