TEVA Leaves Its Tracks and Takes The Adventures of Belize Back Home

TEVA Group PhotoA Crew of ten representing TEVA, visited Belize for an adventurous seven-day familiarization trip and photo shoot for their new sales catalogue. The shoot captured adventure travel at an exotic and beautiful destination. They chose Belize for its exotic beauty and diversity and found the multitude of locations ideal for their photo shoot.

TEVA is an icon in the Outdoor Industry. Founded in the early 1980's by a Colorado River guide, TEVA pioneered the sport sandal and for over 20 years, outdoor athletes and enthusiasts have traveled the globe comfortably in TEVA Footwear. TEVA remains committed to innovation in outdoor performance based footwear, to supporting the outdoor athletic lifestyle, and to the protection of the earth's waterways. They are also linked with the Adventure Travel & Trade Association.

The crew visited various parts of Belize including Cayo, Orange Walk, Dangriga and Glover's Atoll. The first part of their itinerary took them to Cayo where they visited the Maya site of Caracol. They also visited the Rio Frio Cave and Big Rock Falls where they were able to photograph the surrounding area and the beautiful waterfalls. While in the Cayo area, they were able to shoot and experience the Black Hole Drop as they embarked on a vigorous hike into the foothills of the Maya Mountains and rappelled down a 300-foot hole cave drop.

The second leg of the journey took them on a sunset river cruise on a 30-foot pontoon boat, looking for birds and possibly crocodiles as the sun disappeared below the treetops. They ended their night with a crocodile encounter via airboat into the surrounding floodplains accompanied by a resident naturalist who shared information on the endangered Morelet Crocodile. The next stop on their itinerary took them to Glover's Atoll for island activities such as ocean kayaking and snorkeling. The final leg of their trip was to Jaguar Paw where they shot pictures as they zip lined between four platforms in the forest, rappelled from a treetop and ended the day cave tubing through the caves of Caves Branch river.

This project is an innovative step for Belize as the creative material produced will be used in several distribution outlets, a US national print advertising campaign, International print advertising campaign, International consumer catalogs, the Spring 2010 catalog, a Global image library for regional print advertising worldwide, In-store point of purchase displays and shop posters, Teva.com and other global TEVA sites, TEVA social networking pages, TEVA promotional products, Outdoor advertising on billboards and Trade Show booths at Outdoor Retailer, ISPO, Surf Expo, WSA and Friedrichshafen.

Participating private sector partners included Ian Anderson's Caves Branch, Lamanai Outpost Lodge, Isla Marisol Resort, Jaguar Paw Jungle Resort, Yute Expeditions, C&G Tours, and S&L Travel and Tours.
