Belize Attends the London International Dive Show

The Belize Tourism Board continued its ongoing European Market Initiative with the Belize Hotel Association as it attended its third European Trade Show. Belize had a well-defined presence on March 28^th - March 29^th, 2009 at one of Europe's biggest scuba diving shows, the London International Dive Show (LIDS) which took place in Excel, London.

The London International Dive Show brought together over 250 exhibitors from all corners of the world for a weekend of excitement and education for the latest development in dive travel and scuba diving gear. Over 14,000 consumers comprised of experienced and "wannabe" divers from the UK, Europe and other destinations attended the International Dive Show.

There were over 25 seminars conducted throughout the show examining opportunities above and below the diving waters of the world. Consumers had the opportunity to meet with leading suppliers of worldwide holidays, training courses, the latest diving gear, leisure wear and boats. There were also equipment demonstrations, "try-dive" pools, and visual presentations of exotic diving destinations.

Diving speakers that attended this year's show included technical diver, John Kean who provided a new perspective on the great shipwreck; leading free - diving coach, Marcus Greatwood who presented on how improved breath control can benefit all scuba divers; and several other well known divers and underwater photographers.

The Belize Tourism Board continues to assertively market Belize as an adventure coast, predominantly among scuba divers. Belize's presence at the European Trade Shows gives Belize the ability to reach our target markets and to help increase awareness of Belize's premier and diverse diving destination with its magnificent reef, and to invite visitors to experience living proof of the splendor of the Belize's undersea adventure.
