Working Together For A Sustainable Future in Tourism

Greetings,
Incredible! An entire year has passed since the arrival of Minister Heredia, CEO Singh and the new Board of Directors of the Belize Tourism Board. In the face of global challenges, the past 12 months have been intense and productive as we evaluated our strategic direction, marketing activities and our efforts at managing the Belize tourism product to ensure that we have a sustainable and dynamic package with international awareness, appeal and demand.
March was a flurry of activity as we finalized plans for the new fiscal year so that we could hit the ground running at the beginning of the new fiscal year on April 1st. Much planning and consultation have gone into the development of detailed workplans and budgets for Marketing, Product Development and administration of the Hotel sector.
We have revised our marketing creative and advertising placement, created a new website, expanded our trade show presence and intensified our PR activities even as we continue to court new airlift. The BTB has been on the road to several destinations for private sector consultations and lent support to key stakeholders to reinforce the vital tourism importance of well-managed and protected natural resources. With our own human resources ultimately responsible for how warmly our visitors are received, we have been working with school children to enhance their tourism knowledge and, seeking outstanding industry examples for recognition at the Annual Tourism Awards in April.
Each year we invite you to the Annual Industry Presentation where report on what has been accomplished and share plans for the next year, please consider yourself officially invited on April 22nd at 2:00 p.m. at the Belize Biltmore Plaza in Belize City starting at 9:00 a.m. We are excited to share with you the details of everything outlined above and then some!
I close with the reminder to maintain the intensity of your marketing efforts and to make every effort to ensure that our visitors are welcome and valued on their Belize vacation. And, of course, please keep us current with what is happening in your business and in your destinations via the "What's New with You" link on BTB's online office at Belizetourism.org. Feel free to contact the BTB via the contact form, on our website, by email, telephone or a visit to our offices at # 64 Regent St. in Belize City.
With warmest greetings for a safe and peaceful Easter break,
Tracy Panton
