Belize Boasts Its Presence On The Cover Of American Way Magazine

The Belize Tourism Board held a press launch on June 17th, 2009, to unveil the June 15th edition of American Way, the in-flight magazine of American Airlines whose cover features Belize and Mrs. Kim Simpliss Barrow, Belize's first lady.

American Way Magazine is a free in-flight magazine available on American Airlines and American Eagle Airlines flights with a reach of approximately 3 million readers. The twice-monthly variety magazine features celebrity lifestyles, hotels, restaurants, pop culture, and tech reviews. Flight patrons are invited to take a courtesy copy of the award-winning magazine upon arrival at their destination.

The title of the cover, "Beautiful Belize – Where the Beach is only the Beginning," gives readers a preview of what to anticipate as they turn to the pages of the Belize article entitled "By Land and Sea."

The feature article covers Ambergris Caye, the Cayo District and Placencia. The article spoke about diving and snorkeling Belize's Barrier Reef and visits to the Maya sites as well as the white sandy beaches of Placencia.

Also present at the launch was the Prime Minister of Belize, Hon. Dean Barrow, Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation, Hon. Manuel Heredia Jr., Regional Managing Director of American Airlines for Central America, Ecuador, and Peru, Mr. Phil Olivieri, and Country Manager of American Airlines in Belize, Mr. Luis Alpuche.
