BTB's Marketing Team Meets Cayo Tourism Stakeholders

On July 30th, 2009 the BTB Marketing Team traveled to Cayo and hosted over 50 tourism stakeholders in that district at an evening of cocktails and a presentation on BTB's marketing efforts with the objective of highlighting cooperative and complementary opportunities for the private sector.

Among those marketing opportunities outlined were tradeshow support through the BTIA and BTB; making and maintaining contact with wholesalers and travel agents; participating in travel itineraries and keeping the BTB informed of any new developments that it can share on the private sector's behalf to the international press. A Tourism Marketing Kit was also developed and printed for the stakeholder's use. 

The BTB team in Cayo was represented by the Director of Tourism, Mrs. Tracy Panton, Mrs. Shakira Tsai, Director of Marketing & PR, the Marketing Officers Melecia Banks, Vivienne Acosta, Michelle Bowers, and Product Development Officer, Kenneth Williams. The marketing team also took the opportunity to meet with hoteliers individually on site as a means of familiarizing themselves with the product. The team works closely with the international press, wholesalers and consumers and refreshing their knowledge as well as developing relationships with the private sector are extremely helpful in ensuring that the most accurate and up-to-date information and developments can be shared with the media, travel trade and consumers that the marketing team comes in contact with.. 

The marketing team looks forward to its next stop which will be in Punta Gorda, Toledo on August 26th-28th, 2009.
