BTB To Facilitate Customer Relations Training For Border Officials
The Belize Tourism Board will be conducting a Customer Relations training course from August 11th-14th, 2009 with participants from the Border Management Agency, Immigration and Customs Departments and BAHA. This sixteen-hour course will be conducted by Mr. Francisco Puk at the Border Management Conference Room at the northern border.
Participating officers from the agencies identified are the first line of contact for visitors and Belizeans alike. They are responsible for the first impression when one enters Belize and the purpose of the training is to assist these frontline personnel with the skills necessary to give a positive first impression that ensures that those entering Belize will feel comfortable and confident that the Belize experience will be a memorable one.
The Customer Relations training module being used is specifically geared towards tourism related personnel who come in direct contact with visitors. The course focuses on the entire communication process but with an emphasis on verbal communication. The participants should walk away with more comprehensive knowledge, skills and attitudes required to strengthen the cooperative efforts of all stakeholders in making visitors feel welcome.
