American Way Magazine Visits Belize

American Airlines takes more passengers to more places than any other airline in the world.  American Way, available to every passenger on every American Airlines flight, consistently delivers award-winning content and designs that covers the latest trends in travel, lifestyle and business.  It is published every two weeks, and has featured celebrities on its cover from Tom Cruise to Brendan Fraser.   Our beautiful jewel - Belize, will be featured on the cover of the June 15th issue of the magazine.  This is the first time a destination will be highlighted.

Executive Editor, Adam Pitluk, and photographer, Scott Winstrow, made their first visit to Belize and traversed the country to experience, Mother Nature’s Best Kept Secret and to Be One with Belize.
 
Their itinerary took them first to San Pedro where they had the opportunity to swim with nurse sharks and stingrays in 6 – 8 feet deep water at Hol Chan Marine Reserve and Shark Ray Alley.  They also enjoyed lunch at Caye Caulker, which was recognized by Travel + Leisure as one of the top ten emerging beaches in 2008.

The second leg of their journey took them to San Ignacio where they were pampered with various spa treatments, did hotel site inspections and visited the ancient Maya city of Xunantunich, where they relished the sweeping views of San Ignacio and surrounding communities.   The final leg on their itinerary took them to a properties in Placencia where interviews were conducted for use in the upcoming feature on Belize .

Participating private sector partners who assisted in making this trip a success included Tropic Air, Belize Yacht Club, Victoria House, Azul Resort, Seaduced By Belize, San Ignacio Hotel, Ka’ana Boutique Resort, Chabil Mar Villas, Turtle Inn Resort and The Inn at Roberts Grove. 

The magazine is available worldwide on all American Airlines flights and is estimated to be read by 8.3 million people as they cruise along at 30,000 feet.
