Belize Showcased at The Holiday Show in Belgium

Belize attended its third European show in Belgium, Brussels - The Holiday Show from February 5^th - February 9^th, 2009. Representing Belize at the European travel market was the Minister of Tourism & Civil Aviation, Hon. Manuel Heredia, Jr., along with Ambassador, Her Excellency, Mrs A. Joy Grant, Ms. Sofia Bobak, and Mr. David Grant from the Mission of Belize in Brussels and marketing officer from the Belize Tourism Board, Ms. Michelle Bowers.

The Holiday Show was attended by over 150,000 persons and provided them with a great opportunity to meet with travel industry representatives showcasing a wide array of destinations from relaxing getaways to exotic retreats in the world. The show attracted people from the travel industry such as travel trade members, corporate - business, travel decision- makers, leisure and holiday travelers, national and international representatives from the hospitality industries and travel planners.

Promotional materials included Destination Belize magazines, illustrated maps and Belize Travel Guides which were given to consumers and travel agents who visited Belize's booth. At the show, Belize caught the eyes of many visitors with an outstanding Garifuna performance by one of its renowned musician and artist, Mr. Pen Cayetano.

While in Belgium, Belize officials hosted a mixer with ambassadors, government officials from the Caribbean, Central America, Taiwan, and Belgium along with members of the press. The Minister attended meetings with European Commission representatives, investors, and tour operators who were interested in conducting business in Belize.
