Belize Meets with Travel Agents and Wholesalers in California

Belize was well represented in San Diego, California, as representatives from the Belize Tourism Board conducted an educational presentation to forty travel agents of the Caribbean Tourism Organization's (CTO's) Greater San Diego Chapter on February 10th, 2009 at the Courtyard San Diego Mission Valley/Hotel Circle.

The audio visual presentation highlighted Belize's reef, rainforest, archaeology, and culture. During the presentation, the travel agents were introduced to various scenes and sounds of Belize, increasing their awareness and knowledge, to continuously promote and sell Belize as a vacation destination to their clients. Each agent was given an information packet which included the Destination Magazine, an illustrated map, a Belize travel guide, and an illustrated brochure that would aid them to better answer questions by interested clients.

At the end of the presentation, the travel agents were asked several questions to test their keen attention and knowledge throughout the presentation. Those that answered correctly were awarded with prizes of Belizean products such as Marie Sharp peppers and jams, Hot Mama's sauces, Gallon Jug coffee, Traveller's rum, and hand-crafted Belize book markers.

On this trip, representatives from the Belize Tourism Board, alongside the Honorary Consul of Belize in Los Angeles, Mr. Roland Yorke, had the opportunity to meet with one of the largest wholesalers in the California area, Pleasant Holidays.
