BTB Awards Scholarships For Tourism Degree Programs
One ingredient for the continued growth and success of Belize's tourism industry is the availability of trained personnel with hospitality skills and tourism management capability.
In recognition of this need, the Belize Tourism Board awards yearly scholarships for tourism degree programs throughout the country. This year, seven students were awarded scholarships to attend educational institutions throughout Belize.
Jovita Requeña, a graduate of Toledo Community College, was awarded a scholarship for an Associate's Degree in Tourism to attend San Pedro Junior College.
Judith Vidal and Ida Castillo were awarded scholarships to pursue an Associate's Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management at St. John's College, Junior College.
Roberta Guerra, a graduate of Stann Creek Ecumenical College was awarded a scholarship for an Associate's Degree in Tourism Management at Ecumenical Junior College and, a partial scholarship was awarded to Rasheda Rhys to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Tourism at the University of Belize.
The Jean Shaw Scholarship, which is awarded yearly to a young Belizean woman who is desirous of pursuing a tourism career, was awarded to Andrea Usher, who has been accepted into the Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Tourism Management at Galen University.
Galen University extended to the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, a full tuition scholarship per year for the Bachelor's Degree Program in Hospitality and Tourism. The scholarship was awarded to Lorenzo Gonzalez, a graduate of Sacred Heart Junior College.
The Belize Tourism Board is committed to the growth and development of young Belizeans and awards each tourism scholarship to interested applicants who have the desire to pursue a tourism career.
