Belize Delegation Hosts Caribbean Tourism Organization Travel Agents

Between August 25^th and 28^th representatives from the Belize Tourism Board and several tourism private sector partners traveled to Baltimore, Maryland; Portland, Oregon; and Seattle, Washington to conduct educational Belize presentations and business sessions with travel agent members of the Caribbean Tourism Organization.

The meetings were conducted in two parts beginning with a mini tradeshow where members of the delegation displayed their promotional materials and had the opportunity to have one-on-one conversations with the travel agents.

After the mini tradeshow segment, the BTB representatives conducted an audio visual presentation highlighting Belize's reef, rainforest, archaeology, culture and the diverse vacation options available. The objective of these sessions was to increase the knowledge and ability of the agents to effectively promote and sell Belize as a vacation destination.

Strengthening and expanding relationships with the travel trade located in Belize's target markets provides increased opportunities for potential visitors to book a Belize vacation.

Private sector representatives included the Belize Tourism Industry Association's Portland representative, Pamela Ott; Sarkiki Resort and St. George's Caye Resort. Representing the Belize Tourism Board were marketing officers, Vivienne Acosta and Michelle Bowers.
