Penalties for Infractions
- Any person that commits an offence against this act is liable upon summary conviction for a fine not exceeding BZ$10,000.00/a maximum period of 3 years imprisonment.
- ROH can suspend or cancel a license if:
- no renewal is made for current yr.
- doesn’t maintain a guest register;
- comply with directives of ROH;
- pay taxes on time;
- provide info requested by ROH;
- fail to display license or any other sign or policy required by law;
- obstruct ROH or agent from carrying out their duties;
- failure to keep minimum standards;
- proprietor/agent is convicted of a crime in relation to the premises. Upon cancellation/suspension the ROH will order the removal of all signs and/or advertisement and issue a public notice of its closure.
- ROH/agent may issue violation tickets for infraction(s) against this act. The value of ticket is up to 3 times the highest declared rate.
- Persons that are not in agreement with the ROH’s decision may make an appeal to the Minister within 14 days of the notification. The Minister may hear and determine on this appeal.
