Belize is one of the few countries that can boast that all licensed tourism service providers have an Internet presence.  While most businesses have their own websites, the Belize Tourism Board offers the following opportunities.

1. Listing in the Accommodation Directory

Every licensed Belize hotel is listed in the Accommodation Directory on Travelbelize.org.  The listing is free and includes information on the type, setting and destination where the accommodation is located along with amenities, rates and images.  The contact information for guests to contact properties directly is prominently displayed and a link is activated to hotel's online reservation services.

The directory is updated quarterly by the Registrar of Hotels or when contact information changes for the property. 

Hotels may purchase a link from their listing in this directory to their own website at a charge of $100.00 + GST per year.

2.  Market your travel deals!

The Belize Tourism Board offers each licensed hotel and tour operator the opportunity to promote their Belize Travel Deals for editorial opportunities, travel trade communications and in the searchable Travel Deals database on travelbelize.org.

There is no charge for this promotion and each licensed hotel or tour operator can have up to 4 travel deals active at any one time.

Toucan Trail Program

The Toucan Trail program is a small-hotels marketing program targeting local and international travelers on a budget. The program includes a website (www.toucantrail.com) with participating hotels and advertising on major Internet travel sites.  Qualifying hotels must be licensed and registered, offer double accommodations at US$60 or less per night, and be in good standing with the Belize Tourism Board. 

Once a hotel has been approved, a webpage describing its features and including images is developed free of cost and included on the Toucan Trail website.  Hotels who already have websites are linked from the Toucan Trail website. Furthermore, participating Toucan Trail hotels can submit recipes and other information for additional exposure opportunities on the website.

Hotels must apply for inclusion in this program through the Marketing Department and Hotels Department at the BTB.
