The "I Am Belize" campaign seeks to sensitize and educate Belizeans on how their individual actions impact the country's image. The campaign focuses on civic pride, patriotism, and how we as individuals can make a difference.
The "I Am Belize" Campaign is spearheaded by the Belize Tourism Board as a Local Public Awareness Campaign. A Committee comprised of the BTB, the BTIA, the BHA, and other private sector representatives has been convened to set out the programs for this campaign.
Programs include: - The original logo competition - Chosen September 4th, 2009
- Clean school competition - Submissions by November 15th, 2009 for winner selection April 2010
- Clean neighborhood competition - Submissions by December 1st 2009 for winner selection March 2010
- Corporate Awareness campaign - Submissions by November 16th, 2009
Clean School Competition (Primary Schools ONLY):
The following areas will be judged:
- Entrance Area to School
- General Cleanliness
- Before/After pictures/progress of school
- Individual classrooms

- Bathroom facilities
- Administration offices
- Public areas: playgrounds eating areas, etc.
- General beautification efforts: planting of trees/plants, garbage receptacles

Schools that want to participate are asked to register at the BTB office on Regents
Street by November 16th, 2009. The winning school will be chosen by April 1st,
2010 and will receive $7,500 to be used towards the needs of the school.
Clean Neighborhood Competition:
Criteria to register:
- 10 households within area
- All households must be adjacent to each other or facing each other. Turning
corners allowed but no home skipping
- All head of households must signs on to register sheet
- Name your group
- Number of people in each household
- Appoint a group leader and provide contact information for group leader

The following areas will be judged:
- Clean cut lawns/well kept if other than grass
- Trees/plants well trimmed
- Proper garbage disposal
- Going the extra mile: attention to sidewalks, drains, street cleanliness

Interested groups are asked to register at the BTB office on Regent Street by December 1, 2009. The winning neighborhood group will be chosen by March 1st, 2010 and will receive $10,000 to be shared equally among the participating households.
Corporate Awareness Campaign:
The general public is asked to nominated a business and to provide reasons
for nominating that business (e.g. how the business is making a difference
in instilling civic pride). Send the name and address of your business to
Belize Tourism Board office. Deadline for receiving nominations is November 16th,
2009.
