JUNE 27, 28, & 29, 2008 Placencia Gears Up For Its 10th Annual Lobsterfest

Placencia, known for its beautiful beaches, is gearing up for its 10th
annual Lobsterfest celebration. This three day event will be held
from Friday June 27th through Sunday the 29th and features the
crustacean that was once the main source of Placencia’s livelihood at
the Spiny Lobster.

Lobsterfest weekend will be full of family fun, friendly competitions,
an exciting 2 day fishing tournament with more than $8,000 in cash
and prizes, the Placencia BTIA Lobsterfest raffle, and non-stop
entertainment. On the marquee for Friday night is the New Creation
Band from Belize City and on Saturday and Sunday nights the ever
popular Gilharry 7 Band! Saturday during the day will feature the
All Star Steel Band, performances by the award winning Ballet Girls
of Placencia and other family-themed acts. Of course Lobsterfest
would not be complete without its culinary side. Allow your taste
buds to go wild with all the delicious lobster dishes available, such as
grilled, curried, and stewed lobster, lobster fajitas, pizza, pasta and
pies. You name it! If it can be made with lobster you’ll find it at
this years Placencia Lobsterfest!
