The event starts out with a bicycle race followed by an opening ceremony of the regatta. Viewers watch the race alongside the Front Street and village main pier. There are 3 categories of boat race: smaller 20-foot sailing vessels race the first category; 22-foot sailing vessels race the second category and 24-foot sailing vessels race the third category. The sailing race is a traditional annual competition between local sailors. Throughout the day, there is food, drinks, music and games.
